Deconstructed Butterflies
My inspiration for this project was influenced by visits to the butterfly house at the Natural History Museum and Butterflies in the glasshouse at RHS Wisley gardens. The delicate structure of the butterflies together with the bold colour contrasts of the wings influenced my designs.
The collection has been digitally designed manipulating details of the wing structure through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software and produced by hand. I experimented with traditional weave techniques pushing the boundaries of vertical and parallel designs.
